update
I am going to try and be better about posting so even though I don't have any pictures for you here is a post anyway. This week has been absolutely exhausting! We have been putting up Christmas trees at work (Side note: I KNOW it is early. We have 18 trees to pull out of storage, set up, light (side side note: I HATE Christmas lights now) and decorate. My boss wants them up by the week of Thanksgiving and since I will be gone that week it had to be before then. If we waited until after Thanksgiving we would have them up just in time for everyone to leave for break) I am a little touchy about this if you can't tell because students will stand RIGHT NEXT TO US and say "what happened to thanksgiving" and carry on a whole conversation about how dumb it is that we are putting up trees. Once is like, yeah I know, its early, but after 300 times a day for a week it is like, I GET IT! IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT STUDY SOMEWHERE ELSE!" or at least have your conversation in private so my students stop asking me if they can just say some thing. Anyway, now that I have had my little rant I just have to say that I love Christmas and I have to restrain myself every year from putting up my tree too early. I love seeing the trees in the library and I would leave them up for months if I could. Because of my love of Christmas and the reminder I get everyday, we have already started Christmas shopping! I don't like crowds and so I always try to get most of my shopping out of the way in November and then just enjoy the holiday season. This year I finally found a "Shelf Elf" and I am going to make an advent calendar modeled after the one my Grandma made a long time ago. If it turns out well I will show it to you. I also just have to say that Dan is the best sport ever. He puts up with early Christmas shopping wonderfully and is so fun to have around. My family keeps reminding me lately, as if I could forget, that I am so lucky to have him!

Hi, Dan & Nicole,
I'm so glad I checked on your site today. What fun. I love the costumes--I recognize them but can't think of the names right now. I loved the movies and can picture the characters, but can't say the names--too long in Latvia.
What a funny prank -to decorate a phone book. That's the best use of an old phone book I've heard of.
I think the deck looks great, although the pictures are too dark to say for sure. But what an ambitious project.
You, too, are the greatest. Can't wait to talk with you on Christmas Eve. I love you! Grandma K.
