Updates

We've been in school for about three weeks now and we thought we would let you know how it is going. I love my 1st graders! They are so cute and say the funniest things. Last week one little girl told me she liked my shoes and I said "thank you that is so nice!" so of course the rest of the class starts chiming in with things they like too. I loved it. I get to start teaching my Maps unit on Tuesday and I am really excited. I think they will have a lot of fun. On Thursday, we get to go to the Hogle Zoo. I've always wanted to go and I get to have my own group. The kids are so excited, they ask almost everyday. For one of my seminars I had to bring treats. I was being lazy and popcorn balls sounded easy because there were like 4 ingredients. Well, I didn't plan ahead enough and ended up needing more bowls and a lot more space. They actually turned out ok though and I think I might make them again.

Dan is doing well in school but he is always busy! We've made a countdown calendar to help us make it through the semester but the days are going too slowly. Luckily, Dan gets to work on his homework with a friend (thanks Jensen!). I think they help each other keep the stress to a minimum and remind each other to eat which is great.

Football has started and so our weekends are spent watching the games. Just in case you were wondering we are rooting for BYU and the Colts. I would also be ok if the Giants won again, lets just keep it in the Manning family! (I am actually more excited for basketball to start again but don't tell Dan!)Fall is definitely here in Utah and the leaves on the mountain are starting to change. The weather is really nice and I hope it stays like this for a really long time.

Not much else is going on. Sorry for the boring posts but we mostly do homework and watch football. We squeeze in family and friends every once and awhile but not as often as we'd like. Hopefully we will get the hang of school and have a little more time soon.

I'm so glad you're liking your 1st graders! That's soo great! I'm sure they think you are the bomb. I thought my 1st and 2nd grade teachers were so cool! Oh and I miss football. I hear BYU is doing really well this year. Are you guys going to Katie's wedding?
