This weekend we hiked up to Timp caves with Dan's Dad and Sam. I had never been before and it was pretty cool. We had a scheduled time to go into the cave and we got to the base of the mountain a little later than we had expected so we had to hike our tails off to make it up on time. We made it and they let us go through. We tried to take a picture of us and some cool cave formations but obviously it is dark in the cave and this is what we got.

This week
This week at school was super easy. Monday we have planning time. Tuesday was a full day. Wednesday was early out. Thursday we got to go to the zoo! Friday there was no school. I wish every week could go that fast. The field trip to the zoo was so fun. I hadn't been before and for some reason I really like going to the zoo. I think it is because the Phoenix Zoo was fabulous. Anyway, my mentor teacher and I had a group of three students between us. I am glad we had two adults though because one of the students needs his own adult. I thought the bus ride from Payson to SLC would seem like forever but the kids were so excited it was actually fun. They kept looking at the zoo map and telling me what they wanted to see. On the way back they would look at the zoo map and tell me what they saw and what the animal was doing, what sound it made, etc. This is a picture of our three adorable students pretending like they are giraffes.

This is the Heart of Timpanogos which is apparently the selling point for Timp caves. Sam's head got in the way of this picture but you can still see it. You can't tell in the picture but they light it up with a red light and everything.
This is us on the trail back. It was freezing in the cave which is why I am wearing a sweater but the weather was actually so nice. Perfect for hiking. The trail was gorgeous because all of the leaves are starting to change.
We are fitting some fun stuff in despite all the homework like watching The Office with Nelson and Julie and discovering a new favorite food, spinach cheese chip dip (I'm sure it won't surprise you guys but we totally finished all the dip by Saturday and are planning to make it again!) One of our other favorite things to do is Movie and Smoothie Night. It is perfect after a hard day or week to get in PJ's and grab our pillows and have Dan's amazing smoothies and watch a movie!
