So every time my mom comes to visit I have a project for her to help with. This weekend she and Jay came up to visit and it was not a relaxing trip by any means but I definitely appreciated it!
Dan and I (mostly Dan) have been working on our back yard trying to fix the sprinklers and level off the ground. My mom helped us build up one our window wells so that we could level the ground and have the water flow away from our house instead of towards it. Here is a lovely before of the window (and our awesome back yard):

And here is an after or our window well. We still have one block to cut and it may not look like that much work but each block is 24 lbs and we had to level each before it could go in place. Now we are ready for the next step!

The one thing my mom wanted to do while she was up here (besides help us) was to go on a hike since our weather is cooler than theirs. Dan pick what was supposed to be a moderate hike, 4 miles round trip, up to a waterfall. The waterfall and river were beautiful and the scene on the mountain was nice too.

What wasn't so nice was that the hike was straight up a mountain, we got slightly lost, it was hot, and the hike took us 5 hours. Oh yeah, and I'm pregnant! I had to stop so many times because I couldn't breathe! I've hiked Havasupai and for me this was wayyyy harder. From now on (well for the next 7 months or so) Dan is only allowed to pick
very easy hikes. This picture is at the top. You can tell I'm not thrilled to have to come back down.

Dan has been super understanding of me being exhausted all the time and does a great job picking up my slack. One day I had a rough day at work and he brought me home these gorgeous sunflowers! He's seriously the best!

My dad, Julie, and BOTH my sisters are coming up in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to see them. I love having a place for family to stay with us,and I think they enjoy it too even if they pay for it with labor : )
