Memorial Day

We had such a fun Memorial Day weekend! Sam and Shauna invited us down to Alton to go hiking and bike riding. We stayed with Sam's family in Alton for a night and then with his brother in law at their property in Ponderosa. We hiked Zions Observation Point. It was a really nice day and the view was beautiful.

This is Dan "observing" the view.
The next day we drove out to Goosberry Mesa near Zions and went mountain biking. This was the first time I had ridden a bike in almost 10 years! It was a lot of fun. The trail went right along the rim for a while.
Things were great until Dan's pedal fell off. We found the bolt but couldn't get the pedal back on securely.
So, this is how Dan finished our mountain biking adventure! We got home and unpacked last night while we watched the basketball game and ate scones. I was so sad going back to work today!

Wow! What a gorgeous view (I'm talking about the canyon, of course, although you and Dan are nice-looking, too). Sounds like you had a fun trip.

I'm not sure that I knew that you could even ride a bike; that's pretty ambitious of you to go mountain biking after not having ridden for so long. I'm glad you didn't fall off the edge of the rim.

Love,

Dad
