Dan and I got to go on a 10 day vacation this past week. First we hiked Havasupai Canyon near the Grand Canyon, actually it's connected to and might be considered part of the Grand Canyon but it is its own canyon and is all on a reservation. Most of you know the story but for the few who don't .... We hiked in on Friday (10 miles) with our packs (mine was about 25 lbs and Dans was like 30-35lbs). We were doing really well for being the laziest people on earth until the last 2 miles when I sprouted about 10 blisters (not an exaggeration). Anyway, we camped that night and did a day hike of about 10 more miles the next day, camped again and then hiked out 10 miles. When we hiked out it was so hot! I had to take a break like every 7 minutes on for the last 2 miles. Overall the trip was so much fun and I am glad to say that we did it! I am also glad that we got to spend the next week "recovering" in Mesa with my family. I love seeing them! Here are some pictures of our adventures:

We are ready to go!
The adventurers (Darin is taking the picture)

The colors in the canyon were gorgeous!

This is just outside the village at the bottom of the canyon. You can see how well kept everything is....

This is the LDS church in the village . It was the prettiest building there.

Havasupai Falls. Basically, you are walking this long stretch of desert and nothing-ness and then you come around a corner and there it is!

In order to go to Mooney Falls (named for Mr. Mooney who died repelling the falls) you have to go through this little cave and then down a rock wall. If I had known about the descent I wouldn't have gone. It's a good thing I didn't know!

This is the canyon between Mooney Falls and Beaver Falls. It was beautiful, the water is so clean and everything around is green.

After the trip we went to Mesa and saw my family. My mom was looking at the pictures from our hike and asked if one of the pictures was Dan's 12 yr old cousin...Nope....It was me. Here are my sisters and I and I agree I do look like the youngest : ( Aren't they gorgeous though!

There are many many more pictures but I'll spare all the details and just say it was way fun and we are sad to be back in Provo.
