New bike and Big Boy bed!

I could've sworn I already did a post on Camden's new bike and bed but oops. So Now I have some catching up to do. Because Camden's birthday is in January he gets all his gifts at one time of year , but there is a big ability gap between barely two and two and a half so we decided rather than wait until Christmas, (when he'd have to wait 6 months for the snow to melt anyway) we'd just get him a trike now. He always wants to ride something when the other kids are out and usually one of our nice neighbors tries to lend him something, but you know how weird Camden is about things, so he usually just watches.

He was pretty excited! He can't quite reach the pedals enough to really ride it but he likes walking it around and riding down the hill.

Since Camden has been sleeping well in his crib with out the rail, we decided to go ahead and build him a new bed. We were going to just buy one, but the mattress we have is an XL twin and there weren't any cheaper options that would be low enough for Camden to climb up on his own. So, we found these instructions online and it ended up only costing like $40 (and Dan's labor)!

To get Camden excited about the new bed, we told him he could choose any sheets he wants. Well, Camden is kind of on a Little Mermaid kick right now so he promptly decided he wanted Ariel sheets. We took him to Target and figured if that was what he really picked out then that would be fine. He looked at every option and chose The Avengers, until he saw a Flounder pillow and then he decided he wanted Ariel again. The only Little Mermaid sheets they had at Target didn't actually have the characters on them, just some mermaid silhouettes and flowers so when we compared The Avengers out of the box to Ariel out of the box he settled on The Avengers. He was pretty excited with his choice and let everyone know.
The new bed fits the whole family!

It works perfectly!
We haven't had any trouble with the transition and I think it helped that we talked about his new bed for a long time and he got to help build it and paint it. We haven't been up to much since then. Just hanging out. Camden definitely loves it when Dad is home to play.

He loves this knife from his play kitchen and has been cooking a lot lately. This time he decided to just climb around with his knife instead.

One evening right before Dan got home Camden was begging to play with the barbies. I told him he could if he played all by himself while I made dinner. He will only stay in the basement for about 2 minutes without me usually. I got everything out and he played for almost a half hour!

He was fixing the ladder

He had to get every drop!
Today Dan let me sleep in (as usual) and then he and Camden came up and made breakfast in bed.
Giving Dad a kiss to wake him up to eat

Yesterday we took Camden to see the new planes movie. It was his second time at the theater and he was pretty excited!

We got Dan and Camden some new shoes and Dan was nice enough to "fly" Camden around.

We've been playing a lot of Legos lately. Mostly we build towers out of every block we have but one day Camden decided he was in a sorting mood. He built a tower out of each color. So smart!

That's pretty much it! We are looking forward so seeing family for Jared's graduation in a couple of weeks and Camden is already telling us that after summer is Christmas and then his birthday but first he is going to be a ghost for Halloween. Somebody is excited for the holidays!

Thanks for posting so many photos and the videos! Very impressed by Dan's skills -- basement remodeling and now bed frame making! You both are so talented. Hard to imagine that Camden now is sleeping on the mattress that Jared used -- I guess it has plenty of room for Camden to grow into!
