Fabulous Days Off

This last week I had two days off for Fall Break, the weekend, and then two more days off to work on my TWS. It was a much needed break and soooo much fun! Dan and I were given a fondue pot for our wedding (almost two years ago) and we had never used it so we broke it out and it was so good. We had fondue two nights in a row! We definitely had way too much food, apples, pound cake, marshmallows, pretzels, and strawberries, but we managed to eat it all.
Dan and I have some friends who we pretty much spent everyday with last semester because Katie was in my ELED program and Jensen is in Dan's CS program. Well Dan gets to see Jensen all the time but Katie and I never get to see each other any more and we got to hang out! It was Fall Break for Katie too so we went to dinner and out to see Aida at the Hale Center Theater. It was so much fun and I hope we can do more together soon. None of us knew what to expect from the play and it was interesting. Definitely entertaining!
Last night, Nelson and Julie came over to carve pumpkins with us! I loved it. We watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, ate wonderful brownies (thanks guys) and made pumpkin seeds!I was a little over ambitious and chose a 27 lb pumpkin. It was way too thick for me! This picture is Dan finishing his pumpkin and looking at me like I am a loser!
Here are our pumpkins, Dan's Oogie Boogie Man, my owl, and Nelson and Julie's beautiful landscape (which they did free hand and sharing!).Anyway the break was wonderful and I finished my TWS and turned it in! I started in 4th grade on Wednesday and it is so different from 1st. I like it though. I think I like it better. Not that I didn't love my 1st graders but these kids actually silent read for 15 minutes silently! If you know lower grades then you know that that would never happen in 1st!

We loved it, too! Your pumpkins look amazing, and the pumpkin seeds are delicious. Thanks for being such great friends! P.S. We went to Zurchers party store tonight- we've got to go there together to get supplies if we ever take a cooking/cake decorating class together
